Hi there everybody :)
Welcome to the March edition of Lev’s innovation newsletter! I’ve got some interesting news for you this month:
- The internet is going crazy about NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens) this month. Here’s some info on this new crypto craze, how some people are using them in interesting ways, and how people have spent over $60mil on them in 24 hours alone!
- If you haven’t followed NFTs, here’s why you should start
- What the NFT? VC David Pakman dumbs down the intensifying digital collectibles frenzy
- Kings of Leon Will Be the First Band to Release an Album as an NFT - Twitch and game streaming have always been big, but they have boomed since Covid. It’s hard to cut through the clutter, but CodeMiko has found an interesting way to do just that. She has turned herself into a real-life video game character with some insanely cool and weird tech. You have to see it to believe it, check her out @ CodeMiko Is The Future Of Streaming, Unless Twitch Bans Her First
- I’m a big fan of new project management systems, and whilst Monday.com has headed up the pack, Trello is fighting back with some awesome new features. Check it out @ Atlassian launches a whole new Trello
- I’m a camera equipment geek, and have a host of Peak Design items. Peak Design are renowned for creating the best-designed bags, tripods, and camera accessories. Their products are so good that Amazon Basics decided to appropriate their design for one of their bags :( I love how Peak Design has fought back — check out their awesome vid here to see how to take on a Goliath A Tale of Two Slings: Peak Design and Amazon Basics
- Google Analytics is still the benchmark for data collection and analysis, but annotations have largely been a manual addition. With the launch of GAannotations you can automate your annotations by connecting with external data sources. Pretty useful! GAannotations automates contextual data for Google Analytics annotations
- Salesforce is taking large strides in changing their view of a workday, following companies like AirBNB, and looking at how to change their perks from snacks and ping-pong to a more flexible way of working. Worth a read @ Salesforce Says the 9–5 Workday is “Dead”; Work is About More Than “Ping-Pong Tables and Snacks
- I love this short article about the importance of communities in our virtual world — both for customers and internally. Find out more @ Chief community officer is the new CMO
- The Unreal Engine continues to improve and be a great competitor to the likes of Unity for animation, and their new release allows creators to build digital humans with ease. Check the tech out @ MetaHuman Creator: High-Fidelity Digital Humans Made Easy | Unreal Engine
I hope you enjoyed the catchup this month! Let me know if you are going to by buying any NFTs or launching your own Twitch channel any time soon, I’m keen to join in :)
